The wheels of industry grind to a halt in 1987. The factories in this isolated Norwegian town of Notodden close overnight, leaving nothing. From the dust, young women and men create a Blues Festival that now 30 years later is one of the best in the World. This is their story.
The legendary place called Telemark in Norway is a land of ice and darkness in winter, a Garden of Eden in summer. Fifty miles away from nowhere, many might say.
Notodden in Telemark is the birthplace of the 2nd Industrial Revolution, the first 8-hour work day, part of the Mississippi Blues Trail, and home to what has been called the most unique Blues Festival found anywhere.
